Coffee inspires creativity—this is merely an overflow of that. A bit of my coffee journey in the form of doodles and sketches.

I recently spent a week in London visiting some amazing coffee spots—in all, I must have found upwards of 15 shops that did a great job.

More on the entire experience later (be on the lookout for a short write up on Sprudge), but for now here’s the first round of filter doodles inspired by some of the shops.

I made sure to grab some Square Mile while I was at Prufrock. It was a neat experience to have heard all the hype surrounding Square Mile prior to the trip, and then to actually get to meet Jessica MacDonald, a roaster there, and have her explain some of the notes.

This is a beautiful coffee out of Colombia. It’s their Vista Hermosa Huila, and it’s full of cranberry, lime, and currants. I’ve been mainly making it on my new woodneck, using the same ratio as a Pourover. I’m at 26g of coffee to 415g of water.

Photos and words from my Western Europe coffee experiences to come later. Here are some doodles inspired by the wonderful shops I was lucky enough to drink coffee in on this trip. Including 3FE in Dublin, Telescope in Paris, and Prufrock in London.

I gained a lot from each visit. Thanks again to all for being so welcoming. The more people I meet in the specialty coffee industry, the more impressed and inspired I am.
